Calling all undergraduate creative writers! The English Department here at Western Illinois University is currently accepting submissions for publication in their literary magazine Elements. Submission genres included are:

• Creative Non-fiction
• Fiction
• Poetry
• Visual Art

If you’re interested in winning an automatic publication and a cash prize (ranging from $50-$350), consider submitting your favorite pieces to the Creative Writing Awards! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each genre category will be automatically published into this year’s edition and can cash in a prize worth waiting for.

Don’t worry, visual artists; Your prize is the chance to have your art displayed on the print edition of this year’s Elements magazine cover!

The submission deadline for this year is MARCH 8, 2024 by 4:00PM. Head on over to this Elements Submission Form to submit your written pieces, and email elements@wiu.edu for visual art submissions.
