As the heading above states, The Mirror & the Lamp is a publication operated by a team of dedicated WIU students. These students work throughout the year to ensure that the actions and impacts of WIU’s English department are well documented. Through digital articles posted to mirrorandthelamp.org and a yearly print edition published every spring, WIU faculty, students, alumni, and other interested parties can stay up to date on the English department!

These students, diverse in many ways, share one common thread. A passion for publication. Whether that passion is expressed through the composing of feature articles, designing unique print layouts, or creating an artful cover for our print edition, The Mirror & the Lamp offers an outlet for each. Whatever your creative input might be, The Mirror & the Lamp can surely find a home for it.

At The Mirror & the Lamp, we maintain a welcoming and productive atmosphere. Our staff takes pleasure in the community offered by like-minded individuals but also enjoys creatively challenging one another. The office space of The Mirror & the Lamp is one of fulfillment, not just for the needs of the publication, but also for our staff’s socialization.
